Montgomery County Public Schools has named Morgan Sklar as the division’s next Director of Finance.

Sklar recently served in the same role for Pulaski County Public Schools, where she oversaw financial operations, budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, payroll, purchasing, and compliance.

Before joining Pulaski County Public Schools in 2023, Sklar spent nine years as a senior accountant with Robinson, Farmer, Cox Associates in Blacksburg. Her work included financial statement audits for local governments, school divisions, nonprofit organizations, authorities, boards, and commissions.

“Ms. Sklar’s experience in public school finance and accounting will serve our division well,” said Superintendent Dr. Kelly Guempel. “She understands the importance of careful financial management in supporting our schools, staff, and students, and we are excited to welcome her to MCPS.”

Sklar earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Liberty University and also attended Radford University.

“I am excited to join Montgomery County Public Schools and become part of a division with such a strong commitment to students, staff, and the entire community,” Sklar said. “I look forward to building relationships, supporting the great work already taking place, and helping ensure the division’s financial resources continue to support opportunities for every student.”
