K-12: 2016 Mathematics Standards of Learning Resources
The new SOL, Curriculum Frameworks, and Crosswalk documents are now posted to the VDOE web site: http://www.doetest.virginia.gov/testing/sol/standards_docs/mathematics/2016/index.shtml
As a reminder, K-2 will implement the new standards next year (2017-18). For Grade 3 through Algebra II, 2017-18 is the crosswalk year, with "live" test items addressing only the 2009 SOL, but some field test items addressing the 2016 SOL. All grade levels/subjects will move to the new standards for 2018-19.
K-5: Computer Adaptive Testing for Grades 4 and 5 Mathematics
implementation of computer adaptive SOL testing will expand to include
Math 3 and Math 4 in 2016-17.
The most significant impact on students is that they will no longer be able to skip a question and return to it later. Information on Computer Adaptive Testing can be found here.
