Stephanie Sedor, an assistant principal in Martinsville, will take on the post as principal at Harding Avenue Elementary School this school year, pending school board approval. Sedor has been the assistant principal at Patrick Henry Elementary since 2012 and prior to that was a classroom teacher at Albert Harris Elementary School.
“The level of parental involvement and community partnerships at Harding Avenue is an excellent resource that will allow us all to work together to continue the mission of the school,” said Sedor. “Amazing things are already happening at HAE and I hope to work with the parents and staff to move us to new levels of greatness.”
“Mrs. Sedor’s passion about children is apparent,” said Superintendent Brenda Blackburn. “She brings varied experience in elementary education and is excited to get to know the Blacksburg community.”
Sedor received her bachelor’s degree in education from Clarion University and a master’s in education from Hampton University.
Sedor will begin her new duties on July 13, and her appointment is pending school board approval at the July 7 school board meeting.
