At the meeting on July 19, the Montgomery County School Board approved several new hires.
Timothy Moeller was announced as the new prinicpal at Belview Elementary School. Moeller previously served as assistant principal at Floyd Elementary School. He received a bachelor’s degree from Radford University, a master’s degree from the University of Virginia, and an educational specialist degree from the University of Virginia.
“Belview is a great community and I am excited to be a part of it,” said Moeller. “Having grown up in the area and knowing of the district’s reputation, MCPS is a district that I want to be a part of.”
“Tim’s experience and enthusiasm will be a great fit for Belview,” said Superintendent Mark Miear. “The Belview community will benefit from his innovative ideas and his experience in our region.”
Moeller will begin his new duties today, July 20. The board also approved the Administrator of Social Studies Curriculum and the Supervisor of Personnel Services.
David Dickinson was approved as the Administrator of Social Studies Curriculum. Dickinson previously served as the principal at Shawsville Middle School. He earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Virginia Tech. A new principal for SMS is expected to be named prior to the start of school. A community input meeting will be held on July 21 at 5 p.m. at EMHS to learn what the community wants to see in a new principal.
Annie Whitaker was named Supervisor of Personnel Services. Whitaker previously served as assistant superintendent at Bland County Public Schools and assistant principal at Pulaski Middle School. She earned a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees from Radford University.
